Park day tragedy!

After our cruise and the kids' vacation with extended family we decided to take the kids to the park for some family fun!! Little did we know how it would end....
Morgan is quite proud of his climbing skills.

Austen also likes the rock wall.
Bailey is part monkey!!
And there in lies the difficulty... sometimes monkeys should hold onto the bar and not let go before their feet are true. Kenneth and I were both within a 5 feet of Bailey when his feet missed the bar and he let go of the monkey bar he was holding. He caught the full weight of his little body on the bar his feet should have landed on, then he crumpled like a rag doll screaming a most distressing sound. Parents from all over the park came running. When we got him up his chin was GUSHING...we still don't know exactly what his chin hit, our best guess is his knee whomped it. He probably should have had stitches; but we got the bleeding stopped and the cut cleaned and it is healing just fine. The stitches probably would have been as painful to get as the cut itself so we just kept it clean and bandaged and gave him tylenol periodically. I was more worried about internal bleeding from the way he fell on his belly, but we checked him regularly and he doesn't even wear a bruise across his belly. So from now on Bailey (and the other kids) will not be allowed on the monkey bars unless a parent is inches from them...though that probably wouldn't have stopped the incident from happening.
